This loop trail features a dedicated wooden boardwalk guiding visitors through an ethereal, moss-covered cloud forest. Due to the constant moisture and low temperatures, every tree trunk, branch, and handrail is carpeted in thick green moss and lichens, creating a unique, prehistoric ecosystem.
The Thai National Observatory (TNO)
Situated near the mountain summit to escape light pollution and atmospheric disturbance, the Thai National Observatory serves as the main research facility for the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT).
Equipped with a state-of-the-art 2.4-meter optical telescope, it is one of the most advanced stargazing and astronomy facilities in the ASEAN region. Positioned high above the cloud line for most of the dry season, it plays a vital role in global deep-space observation and tracking projects.
